Return Policy

In-Person

Refunds

If you booked facilitator-led in-person training, you may push the training to a later date at any time before or during the course. We no longer require five days' notice to transfer a scheduled in-person course to a later date.

You may cancel and receive a full refund up to five days prior to the start date.

If you do not have the necessary prerequisites for a course, you will not be able to participate and will not be eligible for a refund.

Private Training

If you booked private/on-site training at your workplace, you are responsible for the quoted amount, even if fewer people attend than your quote specifies. You can change the number of participants up to 5 days before the scheduled start date of the private course. You will need to have a screen or wall to project onto and to ensure that the room is suitable for training (i.e. tables, chairs, sufficient space for instructor and gear) for on-site visits.

Transfers 

You may transfer your in-person training to a different person at any time before the training starts for no additional cost. Please ensure the substituted participant has the required prerequisites before transferring the course to them. 

Absenteeism / Late Participants

Participants who are over 15 minutes late for the start of the course or who are absent for more than 15 minutes on any day of a course may not be eligible for a certificate if this causes them to miss too much of the curriculum to successfully complete the course. Absenteeism during class time (e.g. not participating in activities) may result in participants needing to be rescheduled as activities and participation allow the facilitator to validate learning. In these cases, credits and refunds will not be issued but participants may register for another date when they can attend the entire duration of the course. There will be no additional cost to transfer the booking to another date for the first transfer. Subsequent transfer requests will be at full price.

Distance Learning Training

Refunds

You can get a full refund, no questions asked, up to 5 days before the scheduled start of your course or appointment. If you cancel within 5 business days prior to the start date, or if the participant does not attend, you will be charged for the full quoted amount. You can transfer your course to another name up until the course start date if the original participant is unable to attend at no additional cost.

If you book private training for your team, you are responsible for the quoted amount, even if fewer people attend than your quote specifies. You can change the number of participants up to 5 days before the scheduled start date of the private course. 

If you do not have the necessary prerequisites for a course, you will not be able to participate and you will not be eligible for a refund.

Transfers

You can transfer your course to another name up until the course start date if the original participant is unable to attend at no additional cost. Ensure the substituted participant has the required prerequisites before transferring the course to them.  If a participant does not attend a public training course, the full cost of the course will apply for rescheduling.

Cancellations by OSG

We do everything we can to avoid cancelling classes. Courses and appointments are only cancelled when there are circumstances beyond our control, such as a major snowstorm.  If it is unsafe for learners to travel to the training location, we will cancel the class. 

All participants are notified via email at least 1.5 hours before the course is scheduled to begin. The safety of our team and yours is of the utmost importance to us. In the event of a class cancellation due to circumstances beyond our control, you will be contacted on the same day to make alternate arrangements. If you cannot or do not want to make alternate arrangements, we will provide a full refund for the cancelled course or appointment. 

Online Training (Self-Paced Courses)

You can request a refund for Online Training if your request is submitted within 3 business days of purchase and the course hasn’t been completed and/or a certificate has not been issued. 

Online Training Membership

If you are an OSG Online member, the terms and conditions of your membership are included in the contract provided during setup. 

Blended Training

Joint Health & Safety Committee Certification Blended

You will be eligible for a refund if your request for a refund is submitted within 5 business days of purchase and the course has not been started. 

You may transfer your enrollment to another person as long as no certificate of completion has been issued for any part of the course.

Standard First Aid Blended

You may change the date of your course at any time.

If you need to cancel and do not wish to reschedule to a later date, you will be eligible for a refund if:

  • The request for a refund is submitted within 5 business days of purchase and
  • Day 2 (the in-person portion) is more than 5 business days away

You may transfer the enrollment of one participant to a different participant as long the transfer request is received at least 5 business days prior to Day 2 (the in-person portion) of the course. You are responsible for ensuring that all participants have completed the online portion of the course prior to attending Day 2.

You are responsible for the quoted amount, even if fewer people than your quote specifies attend. You can change the number of participants up to 5 days before the scheduled start date of Day 2 of private training.

You are responsible for providing a training space that:

  • provides 1.4m2 (15 sq feet) of clear floor space per participant
  • Has a wall clear of obstructions to project onto
  • Is suitable for training (i.e. tables, chairs, electricity)

Absenteeism / Late Participants

Participants who are over 15 minutes late for the start of Day 2 (the in-person portion) of the course or who are absent for more than 15 minutes e may not be eligible for a certificate if this causes them to miss too much of the curriculum. Absenteeism during class time (e.g. not participating in activities) may result in participants failing to achieve the learning outcomes that are required to become certified. In these cases, credits and refunds will not be issued.

Practical / Equipment Evaluations

You can cancel or change your practical evaluation appointment up to 5 days before the scheduled start date for a full refund. You can also transfer the appointment to another person’s name if they have completed the training or prerequisites that the evaluation pertains to. 

To perform practical evaluations safely, the following conditions must be met:

  • Annual certification and inspection must have been completed in the past 12 months on the equipment that will be used for the evaluation
  • The equipment must be safe and in good working order
  • The participant must have sufficient training or experience

If the above conditions are not met and OSG Is unable to perform the evaluation, you will not be eligible for a refund. You can book a new evaluation when the conditions can be met.

There are specific requirements for Respirator Fit Testing to be carried out. Review the requirements for Fit Testing.

Consulting & Audits

Consulting, audits, and other services are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the quote/service agreement. 

Physical Products

You can return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery. Certain exceptions apply.  If a product is found to be defective within 30 days of delivery, those products can be exchanged, or replacement parts will be provided. The following items are not eligible for a refund and are final sale:

  • TDG Clear Language Shipper & Driver's Handbook
  • DVDs
  • Participant Manuals
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Respirators
  • Face Masks
  • Face Screens
  • Alcohol/Sanitizing Wipes
  • All other first-aid supplies

Green Book Subscriptions

Green Book Subscriptions are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the quote/service agreement.

Train-the-Trainer Kits

OSG will replace or exchange any missing or defective items from your specific 'Train-the-Trainer' kit within 30 days of your training course. Replacement or exchange will only occur if the missing materials are documented on the materials confirmation sheet and initialled by the trainer. After 30 days, OSG assumes no responsibility for any missing or lost materials and charges will apply for any requested materials.

Refund Process

Contact us to start a refund by emailing info@osg.ca or calling 1.800.815.9980. Our Client Success Team will ask you for your order confirmation number and other contact information to verify your eligibility for a refund.

If you have been approved to receive a refund, you can expect to see the refund show up on your credit card in 7-14 days after we have issued the refund. 

Refunds from Credit Card Transactions can be sent back only to the original payment method used in a charge. It’s not possible to send a refund to a different destination (e.g., another card or bank account).

Refunds to expired or cancelled cards are handled by the customer’s card issuer and, in most cases, credited to the customer’s replacement card. If no replacement exists, the card issuer usually delivers a refund to the customer using an alternate method (e.g., check or bank account deposit).

Deposits or prepayments made by the customer are refundable up to 365 days from the date of receipt. After 365 days, the amount will be converted to an Account Credit which will be valid for an additional 365 days.

In order to provide exceptional service and accuracy, we regularly update the products and services on the Service.

We cannot and do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any information, including prices, product images, specifications, availability, and services. We reserve the right to change or update information and to correct errors, inaccuracies, or omissions at any time without prior notice.

Despite our best efforts, the products or services available on our Service may have an error regarding the price, be inaccurately described, or be unavailable.

We may experience delays in updating information on the Service and in our advertising on other websites.

Contests, Sweepstakes and Promotions

Any contests, sweepstakes or other promotions (collectively, "Promotions") made available through the Service may be governed by rules that are separate from these Terms. If you participate in any Promotions, please review the applicable rules as well as our Privacy Policy. If the rules for a Promotion conflict with these Terms, the Promotion rules will apply.
