COVID-19: Precautions and Expanded Refund Policy
OSG is looking forward to providing a safe and positive training experience for your employees as we resume in-person public training. Safety of your staff and ours is always our top priority. That’s why we’re implementing the following precautions at our in-person training sessions. Distance Learning is also available, which allows participants to learn from wherever works for them.
Please note this situation is evolving and our response may change as new information becomes available from reputable sources including the Public Health Agency of Canada.
Training rooms will be set up to allow for a 6-foot radius between each participant, as well as the trainer. Class capacity will be reduced to ensure physical distancing can be maintained.
Masks / Face coverings
Trainers and Participants will be required to wear their face covering as soon as they enter the training location and when in publicly accessible spaces inside the location. Our training classrooms will allow for physical distancing and are closed to the public. Once seated, participants may remove their face covering if they wish, as long as physical distance is maintained.
Proof of vaccination required for entry into the classroom
In accordance with the Government of Ontario’s announcement, all participants of in-person classroom training will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination, along with photo ID, to enter the training facility. A negative COVID-19 test or recent COVID-19 infection will not entitle a person to enter the training facility.
Individuals who cannot receive the vaccine due to medical exemptions will only be permitted entry with a doctor’s note until recognized medical exemptions can be integrated as part of a digital vaccine certificate.
Currently, vaccine receipts are available in PDF form to be downloaded or printed to your computer, phone or tablet. Both proof of identity along with proof of vaccination will be required. Individuals can provide proof of immunization by downloading or printing their vaccine receipt from the provincial booking portal, or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Booking Line at 1-833-943-3900.
Trainers will check in each participant by completing a COVID-19 assessment at the beginning of the training and again after the lunch break. Participants are expected to be in good health and not show any respiratory, cold, or flu-like symptoms. Participants should practice proper cough/sneeze etiquette and hand hygiene. Additionally, OSG's Trainers/Evaluators themselves are required to complete a Self-Assessment Questionnaire prior to arriving at the training location.
Personal hygiene and sanitization
Hand sanitizer and/or access to soap and water will be available in all training locations. Participants and trainers will wash or sanitize their hands frequently, especially upon arrival, before and after touching commonly-touched surfaces and before leaving. All surfaces in the training room (tables, chairs, countertops, doorknobs, light switches, etc.) will be disinfected before and after the training. Any shared equipment or tools required for the training will be cleaned and sanitized before and after use or quarantined.
Sharing equipment and materials
Participants will receive their personal course materials and are encouraged to bring their own personal pens. Sharing materials and pens is strongly discouraged. For training or evaluations where participants must demonstrate skills or perform physical tasks using supplied equipment or tools, trainers will ensure that the equipment or tools are properly sanitized between each use.
Currently, contact tracing is being conducted by Ontario's public health units. If contacted and when required, OSG may share participant contact information with public health units for the purpose of contact tracing.
Alternative training options
If a participant displays cold or flu-like symptoms, as defined by Government of Canada and Government of Ontario guidelines, they will be asked to leave. We have expanded our refund policy to ensure that anyone who needs to reschedule for any reason may do so.
Expanded Refund Policy
We are expanding our refund policy to ensure participants are not concerned about losing their training investment when deciding if it is safe for them to attend group training. Clients who have booked facilitator-led training may:
- transfer their booking to a later date at any time before or during training
- cancel and receive a full refund up to five days prior to the start date
We will not require a reason for cancelling. This expanded refund policy no longer requires five days' notice to transfer a scheduled course.
Effective September 22, 2021, all participants of public in-person classroom training will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination, along with photo ID, to enter the training facility. If you are unable to provide proof of vaccination, you will not be permitted to enter the classroom and will not be eligible for a refund.
Will I have to wear a face covering during training?
Face coverings must be worn in indoor public spaces. This means face coverings should be worn when entering the training location and while in any publicly accessible spaces inside the location. Our training classrooms will allow for physical distancing and are closed to the public. Once seated, participants may remove their face covering if they wish, as long as physical distance is maintained.
How do I cancel or reschedule the training I've booked?
Will I get a refund if I have to cancel because I am sick?
You will have the option of rebooking training for a later date at any time before or during training or receiving a full refund if you cancel up to five days prior to the start date.
Our expanded refund policy no longer requires five days' notice to transfer a scheduled course, so you don't have to worry about losing your training investment if you become ill.
