Course Summary
Failure to recognize and control hazards associated with exposure to biological, chemical, and physical agents has led to an increase in occupational illnesses.
Individuals who may be exposed to these hazards must understand how to identify WHMIS controlled products their facility and the purpose and significance of the information provided through labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
Our course is designed to provide employees with knowledge of the fundamental requirements of WHMIS legislation, as well as providing a useful comprehension of the WHMIS system, classes, labels, MSDSs and common health effects.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify where WHMIS applies
- Discuss worker rights
- Recognize classes and symbols
- Identify supplier and workplace label requirements
- Identify Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) requirements
- Discuss exposure considerations and controls
Note: This is an awareness course. Additional communication must be provided by the employer with respect to specific chemicals hazards workers may be exposed to.
Target Audience
Workers exposed or likely to be exposed to biological, physical, or chemical agents, supervisors, JHSC members and, health and safety representatives.

Le but de cette formation en ligne est de fournir des cours de certification sur le SIMDUT (Système d’information sur les matières dangereuses utilisés au travail), mais plus important encore, elle fournit aux participants les connaissances de base qui leur permettront de prévenir l’exposition accidentelle et l’exposition à long terme des effets nocifs des matières dangereuses utilisées au travail.
En cas de réussite, un certificat sur le SIMDUT valide pour 1 an sera émis automatiquement.
