Course Summary
Asbestos and asbestos-containing material (ACM) is a designated substance which poses long term health risks to workers when it is disturbed. Our course is designed for constructors, employers, supervisors, and workers involved in building maintenance, repair, or alteration.
It is a requirement that all employees who perform work that could disturb asbestos be able to identify potential asbestos-containing material, the health risks associated with exposure, and the necessary precautions to be taken when working around asbestos.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize asbestos-containing material (ACM)
- Identify health risks
- Explain requirements for type 1, 2 and 3 (glove bag procedures)
- Explain personal protective equipment
- Identify the need for decontamination and personal hygiene
