Summary
Implementing an Ergonomic Injury Prevention Program is a critical step to addressing and preventing workers from developing work related cumulative sprain and strain injuries. Each program requires reactive
and proactive initiatives that include methods of: evaluating risks, implementing effective controls and solutions, educating the workforce, and measuring success of the program or program components.
Our General Ergonomics training provides participants with an introduction to ergonomic principles, identification of at-risk postures using interactive case studies. The data collection template is provided to work through case studies to assist participants to effectively identify concerns, complete high-level evaluations while identifying solutions to mitigate or eliminate the risks identified.
Objectives
- Highlight what ergonomics is and why it’s important
- Identify the principles of basic ergonomics
- Education regarding key ergonomic risk factors
- Use of our Workplace Athletics to demonstrate non-neutral postures
- Education on using the audit template and implementing solutions for identified risk
- Includes interactive case studies to develop the “Ergo Eye” of all participants
- Provide hands-on mentored assessments using on-site client workstations
Target Audience
Ideal to create some internal ‘experts’ in ergonomics to complete audit style risk assessments. Ideal for
supervisors, managers, safety representatives and/or joint health and safety committee members or an
ergonomic team.
